United States (UPI) -- U.S. scientists say they`ve developed the first egg-injected vaccine to protect chickens against the avian influenza virus.

Chicken Hunter is happy for the news that developement of a vaccine for the Chicken Flu has been found. Thank goodness it wasn't related to stem cells. Anyway they inject it into the egg and 100% control. Quoted in the article 'We have proven the principle, which is the major step in leading to commercially produced vaccine that could be vital to the poultry industry,'
The Sanders legacy will live on. Chicken for everyone!

An Auburn University veterinary professor in collaboration with researchers at Birmingham, Alabama-based Vaxin Inc. has developed the first “in ovo,” or egg-injected, vaccine to protect chickens against avian influenza.

Smoked Rats Found In New York Meat Market

NEW YORK -- Mystery meat is all part of the job for New York's food safety inspectors. Stores across the city are selling all sorts of exotic meat.
There was a market in Queens that had 12 beefy armadillos in the front window. In Brooklyn, inspectors found 15 pounds of iguana meat. And a grocery in Manhattan had smoked rodents.
Joseph Corby, director of the state's Division of Food Safety and Inspection, said they've seen just about everything. He said if markets refuse to comply with food regulations, inspectors can, and do, shut them down.

"Chicken Hunter doesn't understand PETA. Out of site out of mind? You won't let Mariah just give it to a homeless dude in New York? You put it on a plane and send it to Mongolia? Strange. The fur coat ends up missing, maybe she will find it in the same place they hid her carrer."

A fur coat Mariah Carey donated to animal rights organisation People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has gone missing on its way to benefit nomads in Mongolia. The We belong together singer was so disgusted when a mystery admirer sent her two mink coats, she immediately passed them onto PETA so they could be put to good use.PETA distributes unwanted furs to help clothe the homeless and refugees, and also distributes strips of fur to nomads in Mongolia to line winter coats.

Porky Pigs Killer gets his day in court

"Chicken Hunter thinks Joseph's thinking is way off. He is quoted as saying "Oh yes, it's a sad thing. But, you know, all that meat could've fed some poor people, and instead it went into the ground. And ... that's all I can say right now." IF THAT IS ALL YOU NEED FOR JUSTIFICATION THEN I BET IF YOU KILLED AN NFL LINEMAN YOU COULD HAVE FED SOME POOR PEOPLE TOO. Chicken Hunter thinks this guy is an A-Hole. One thing he did right was kill a feral pig, he just didn't ask. Feral Pigs are the devil in short pink dresses"

A 28-year-old man accused of trespassing on private property and killing a 300-pound pet feral pig in Mililani Mauka was free on bail on a firearms charge at the time, court records show.
Joseph V. Calarruda V yesterday pleaded not guilty at Circuit Court to felony livestock theft in connection with the killing of the pig, named "Porky," at a lychee farm Oct. 22. Trial has been set for Jan. 22, 2007. Calarruda is free on $50,000 bail.
When asked if he regretted what happened, Calarruda told television cameras outside of court yesterday, "Oh yes, it's a sad thing. But, you know, all that meat could've fed some poor people, and instead it went into the ground. And ... that's all I can say right now."
Calarruda has other legal problems. Calarruda was charged June 9 with bringing an AK-47 assault rifle and a loaded ammunition magazine to his workplace. He was free on $40,000 bail on the firearm charge when the alleged pig incident occurred. Conviction on the firearms charge carries a maximum 10-year prison sentence.

64,000 pigs had to wait to die because of paper work snafu

"Chicken Hunter wonders if we can't keep the workers documented then how many of the 32,000 hogs killed daily are really looked at for health, disease, Osma bin Piggy or maybe a cigarette butt. Because if I do the math...5000 employees and 32,000 hogs killed daily. Less the one worker who falls into a grinder, the eighty who cut off fingers, the seventy who are stoned and the 60+ managers that do what Corporate tells them to do. Roughly 3500 workers killing 32,000 hogs. Nine hogs per worker per day. Nice to see the consolidation of the food groups is really working out for the working man.
Chicken Hunter thinks these guys should make $48k a year at least. In my country Greenland"

Employees at a Smithfield Foods Inc. slaughtering plant returned to work Saturday after walking off their jobs the previous two days to protest the recent firing of immigrants.
In all, about 1,000 nonunion workers, mostly Hispanic, participated in the walkout, and company officials have said they won't be disciplined. The agreement to return to work came late Friday after Smithfield representatives met with leaders from a Roman Catholic Church to discuss the workers' grievances.

The plant in Tar Heel, located about 25 miles south of Fayetteville, employs 5,000 workers and slaughters up to 32,000 hogs a day. Smithfield, Va.-based Smithfield Foods (nyse: SFD - news - people ) is the world's largest pork processor.

Judith Regan's new book written by Mel Gibson and Michael Richards

LOS ANGELES -- Actor Michael Richards, famous for playing Kramer on "Seinfeld," is apologizing for using racial slurs during a stand-up comedy routine in Los Angeles....

"Chicken Hunter has heard through the grapevine that Mel Gibson and Michael Richards have teamed up for a Buddy Comedy blockbuster coming to the big screen in January of 2007.
The dynamic and soft spoken duo have joined forces in a 'Lethal' combo of punchy racist humor that Afro-Americans and Jews really love. Joe Peshi may join in to get the Italian American viewer or as Mel or Michael may say, those Goombas. Over heard in the background of many of the scenes is the wonderfully composed soundtrack by N.W.A. Niggaz4life (1991)Niggaz 4 Life album. A corporate movie bastard is overheard saying, "The Mel and Michael teaming was genius!" It is set to be filmed in a concentration camp setting in the American South previous to the civil war.

Judith Regan intended to publish the book version of the movie called If I were a racist, which caused widespread controversy. She issued an eight-page defense of the deal, entitled Why I Did It, in which she confessed to being a racist wife and that she felt the spirit of cops and audience members in the room with her as she spoke to Michael Richards. On November 20, 2006, News Corporation announced that it was canceling the publication of the book due to bad press and not because of what is right and what is wrong.

Alaskan Thanksgiving Feast: Whale Meat
By RACHEL D'OROThe Associated PressFriday, November 17, 2006; 7:02 PM

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- David Smith was a new arrival to the North Slope village of Nuiqsut last year when the former resident of upstate New York cooked up a few turkeys and vat of chili for the Eskimo community's Thanksgiving dinner. He was completely unprepared for another dish on the menu: hundreds of pounds of gleaming red, raw whale meat, served frozen solid in bite-size pieces.
"I thought we were going to have a feast. I never assumed it would be a feast of whale meat," said Smith, 76, the village administrator
